Dr. Korenman is trained to administer Botox into the masseter ( jaw muscle).
This relieves clicking stress which causes jaw headaches. This can also help with muscles of the head and neck that contribute to headaches.
The temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, is a small area on either side of your face where the mandible—or lower jaw—connects to the temple.
It is responsible for an enormous amount of facial movement during speech, eating, or even just forming expressions. As a result, it is particularly susceptible to pain and injury if anything goes amiss. Impact injuries, poorly aligned bites, teeth clenching or grinding, and daily stress can cause many different and painful disorders in the TMJ.
Botox and dermal fillers work by interfering with the transmission of nerve pain signals. They paralyze nerve endings and help relax the muscles.
If you are experiencing clicking or popping your jaw joints (TMJ’s) we may be able to help.
